The Chloe Handbag- The Perfect Gift for Moms

Most moms secretly long for a designer handbag, but many of them will not spend the extra money when there are so many other things that their family needs. Mother’s Day and Christmas are great opportunities for a person to shower his or her mom with the luxuries that she has always desired, but would never buy for herself.

Jenny’s Chloe Handbag Story

Jenny’s mom had always wanted a Chloe handbag. She loved to look at the new styles of Chloe handbags that the stars were carrying in the weekly magazines. But as a single mom, there was no way that she could afford to buy one; saving for a Chloe handbag seemed frivolous since there were so many other things that the family needed. So Jenny’s mom just satisfied herself with admiring the Chloe handbags from afar.

Jenny swore that one day she would buy her mom a Chloe handbag. After all, her mother deserved one after all those years of sacrificing for her family. As soon as Jenny got her first job, she began saving for that Chloe handbag for her mom. From her first day of work until her mom’s birthday, Jenny had nine months to save for her surprise gift.

A Childhood Inspiration

As a child, Jenny heard an inspirational story of a mother who was always setting aside her desires in order to put her family’s needs first. As a young woman, she married a good man and hoped that one day he would be able to give her a diamond ring even though they couldn’t afford it right away. Her husband loved her so much that he wanted to give her whatever she wanted, but he didn’t have the money for diamonds. So he told her that they would save for a diamond little by little.

By the time they had saved enough money for her diamond ring, their first child was born and they used the diamond money for much needed baby expenses. The couple then had a second child. Those children had to be put through college and then they had their own weddings to pay for. Needless to say, the diamond fund was used many times for reasons other than the purchase of the woman’s diamond ring.

Time went on and the husband retired from his job. With his retirement money, he finally purchased his wife the diamond she had always wanted. At that point, her son and daughter-in-law announced that they were expecting their first child. A young couple in love, just as the woman herself had once been, the son and daughter-in-law had not been able to afford a diamond either. The woman, in her usual self-sacrificing style, handed her diamond ring over to her daughter-in-law saying that she was too old to appreciate its beauty.

Saving is Hard

Jenny could not express how hard it was to save $50 every month for her mom’s Chloe handbag. But after almost a year, she had finally saved enough to make her mom’s dream come true. Jenny bought the best Chloe handbag she could afford and it was truly beautiful. The look on her mom’s face when Jenny gave the Chloe handbag to her was more reward than she could have ever imagined and made each month of setting aside the money well worth the sacrifice.

Hot Style Tips For Handbags

Having the right handbag can be the most important part of your outfit. Not only should you have the most stylish bag around, but the type of handbag should be appropriately matched with the style you are sporting. Here are some of the simple things to remember when you are grabbing one of your designer handbags before you run out of the door.

The most important thing to consider when matching a bag to your outfit is size. A large bag is very casual and should only be worn so. One piece of clothing should be loose to compliment the size of the bag. A loose top or a skirt really help the bag flow with what you are wearing. Small bags with a shoulder strap are great to be matched with a sun dress or jeans with a snug top. This type of purse is the easiest to wear and is usually moderately priced by most designers. Large bags get expensive very easily, so don’t blow money on a lot of large bags. A clutch is a very versatile purse especially if it is black. Clutches can be matched with anything from a dress to an evening gown. Very dressy handbags will usually have sequins on them and they should only be matched with upscale evening wear.

Great brands to invest in are the top designers that have been around for a while. They usually have a classic line that stays in style for many years. Classic designs by Gucci and Louis Vuitton usually compliment a variety of outfits and you will get your money’s worth out of them. You can update classic styled handbags with flower pins or simply tie a scarf onto the strap. A good way to find out what the latest trends are is to shop around and see what designers are adding to their most recent bags.

The 5 S’s of Handbag Selection

Are you one of those women overwhelmed by the sheer, staggering number of handbag choices? Do you long for the simpler decisions of your grandma’s day? For the days when her choice was the black leather frame handbag—think Golden Girls’ Sophia’s ever-present purse dangling from her forearm. Or would grandma pick her white patent leather summer purse? Or maybe a woven wicker number for the hazy, crazy summer days of the 1950s and 60s? Aaah the simple life.

Life in the twenty-first century is not short of choices, rigid rules, fashionista do’s and don’ts, instant experts and armchair critics. Many women are unable to act because of decisional paralysis. We’ve grown to rely on the fashion industry stamp of approval to tell us what we like, what we want, and where to get it. Unless it’s included in fashion magazine full page ads or top ten lists we’re just not sure if it’s right for us. If it bears a designer insignia or is favored by the hottest celebrities we want it. At the very least we crave the approval of family and friends. We’ve given up control.

In yet one more take on how to pick the perfect purse consider the following five tongue-in-cheek handbag design personality types. By pigeon-holing er defining your personality preferences you too will be able to take back control of your design destiny and buy just the right purse for you and live happily ever after. Honest.

One. Are you a woman who appreciates fine lines, defined edges, art for the sake of art? Do you gravitate to sleek furniture and streamlined accessories? Aim for a “Sculptural Silhouette.” Look for handbag designs that are structured, yet beautiful enough to display on a bookcase or table in your home. Designs that make you gasp in awe.

Two. If the words minimalist, uncontrived, and smart define your design sensibility in clothing and home decor think “Savvy Simplicity.” You want to combine practicality and common sense with clean, simple designs. You don’t want or need umpteen pockets in your purse. You frown at embellishments like tassels and grommets and pleating and buckles. Understated elegance is your watchword.

Three. Confident, refined, possessing worldly experience in matters of fashion and culture are words that define you. You know how to carry yourself and handle any situation that presents itself. You personify “Sleek Sophistication.” You gravitate to those handbags constructed of luxury leathers, fine finishes and attention to detail. You understand that often less truly is more.

Four. You are the woman who’s most likely to turn heads. You’re well put together and not afraid to bend the rules. Your motto is: “it’s better to ask forgiveness than request permission.” Your style is “Stunningly Seductive.” In the language of purse design that means sexy fabrics and finishes like lace, sequins and beads. Your handbag selection could reflect the rock chick vibe or the fun, funky exuberance of youth.

Five. You are the woman who expects good value for your dollar. You’ve earned everything you have and you will not settle for less than the best. You expect, no, demand reliability, functionality, enduring, affordable quality. And you’re not willing to forgo fashion forward style to get it. This handbag design personality type is “Stylishly Substantial.” Organizer purses with multiple pockets, attached key chains and coin purses are features you appreciate. With your hectic, multi-role life you need a handbag that works for you. Whether you need to pack some files or some baby wipes this purse will accommodate your wishes. You opt for classic designs.

Unless you’re willing to go through life with one basic black bag it’s time to have some fun with making your own fashion accessory decisions. Take note of what you love on others but trust your own good sense. Expect value for money and don’t settle for less. Assess your needs—do you need a bag to take you from home to work and back again? Or do you want a glitzy little number for a hot night out? Or perhaps a fun and funky tote for the Saturday mall crawl? Take back your control and experience the power of purses.

Bags With Bling

“Sex appeal is 50 per cent what you’ve got and
50 per cent what people think you’ve got.”

-Sophia Loren

I don’t know the time or context in which Sophia said this but I re-discovered it in a book of quotes, “The Last Word-A Treasury of Women’s Quotes” by Carolyn Warner, published in 1992.
It’s safe to say, fourteen years later, that not a great deal of what ‘you’ve got’ is being left to the imagination. In a world gone mad, it’s more “if you’ve got it, flaunt it.”

For those women unwilling or unable to compete with the sexy, nubile, twig-skinny, nearly-naked, rich young girls, the only recourse is letting your accessories speak for you.

Personally I consider shoes to be utilitarian. With plantar fasciitis the need for comfort is non-negotiable. In fact if I had a nickel for everyone I know with some sort of foot problem, I’d be a rich woman. So, for me at least, shoes are not the thing that defines my look.

However, handbags are. Never before has selection been greater. The sheer number of designers pumping out at least two collections a year ensures product galore (and a very short shelf life for all but the most classic designs). The internet has served to make our world so much smaller. The world’s inventory is literally available in the comfort of our own homes.

Knock-offs play into Sophia’s “what people think you’ve got.” For those women inclined to create an impression, albeit false, knock-offs may be the answer—how to have the designer look when clearly you can’t afford it.

Most other women are content (or is that resigned?) to making their fashion dollar go as far as it can without resorting to copycat products. That may mean, in practical terms, just buying one really good leather bag each year plus a fun, funky, faux fad knowing full well it’s almost a throw-away.

Current handbag styles seem to fall into two loose groups. The trendiest ones are loaded with buckles, tassels, rings, straps, appliqués and jewels. In a word: bling. They tend to be over-sized, slouchy, unstructured. Group two are those classic styles, colors, construction and finishes that endure year in and year out. A toned down, more subtle bling. The sort of designs that become the mainstay of some of the world’s most successful and enduring design houses.

Both groups are available in price points exclusively for the ultra-rich, Hollywood starlet or more reasonably priced for you and me.

But back to Sophia…is it sexy to flaunt the illusion of wealth even if you can’t afford it? Or is it sexier to flaunt your authenticity—pulling together your very best look —with the greatest accessories you can afford.

Spring 2007: The Must-Have Luxury Leather Handbags

Although a luxury leather handbag is one of the most classic fashion accessories that one can buy, styles and trends change with the season. If you are in the market for a new bag, you will be pleased to discover the array of options available this season. Spring 2007 is all about choices in personal style. Here is your guide to the latest styles and colors in a variety of luxury leather handbags.

Originally slouchy, comfortable, and decidedly bohemian, the “hobo bag” has gone through a style metamorphosis. While retaining their offbeat styling, this year’s hobos are now more structured, offering a “frame” to hold the leather in place. From funky faux-reptilian straps to shiny metal grommets, trim is in so shop around for the style that best represents you.

A structured middle ground between a hobo and a totebags, the “satchel” is possibly the most functional choice of all luxury leather handbagsbags. Functional definitely does not mean frumpy though, as the satchel has emerged as possibly the hottest bag of the season. The satchel offers a dizzying array of styling choices from shiny patent leather to rings and grommets that are reminiscent of the old punk chic.

Large bags are in this year and the larger the better. Totebags were originally designed as specialty bags for carrying books and other large items. Recently however, they have morphed into the bags of choice for many Hollywood stars. With a bag this large it is easy to lose keys and other necessities in the bottom so this year’s hot styles feature zipper compartments to keep essentials separated.

While large bags are the style of choice for everyday use, transform your look at night with the polar opposite: a tiny handbag complete with intricate detailing. Teeny zippers, delicate chains and soft trim are all just a few of the choices in this year’s smallest bags.

Cell phone cases, wallets, and key chains are all available in an endless array of styles and colors. The significantly lower price of these small accessories makes it easier to embrace possibly short-lived trends so live it up with these more affordable options.

Colors are also very important. Without a doubt bright and shiny red is the number one color of the moment. From patent leather to suede, from totebags to clutches, red bags are the hottest of the season. If fire engine red is not quite your style, other colors within the red family are widely available as well from pink to burgundy and everything in between.

Royal purple, regal green, lapis blue: if it can be found in gemstones it is hot this season. These colors work especially well on clutch purses, adding a shock of color to your little black dress.

Brown and beige are especially hot this year, particularly in the larger bags, making it easy to coordinate your bag with many different outfits. White is also in and of course, basic black never goes out of style.

This year’s styles are all about personal choice. The wide array of colors, styles and especially trim ensures that no matter what your individual preference there is sure to be a luxury leather handbag that is perfect for you.

Current Style in Handbags

Bags are a very important accessory of a woman’s attire in any season. Handbag designs keep getting better and more innovative every season. Interesting trends emerge and this year is no different.

BAG IT: Bags this current season are expected to have a lot of stitch details. Huge and oversized handbags are the hottest item this season. But remember to keep it small for the evening. The trend this season will veer towards accessories on the handbag, like plaited handles, plaited areas etc.

It may include that extra strap which buckles down or even the edges of the handbag having leather thongs wrapped around them. Some other trends may include tassels and studs and even possibly padlocks and frills on the bag.

Interesting accessories are expected in the handbag this season. These may include key rings and metal buckles. Pockets in the bag, leather appliqués and charms that dangle are likely to be part of the current handbag style scene.

Crystal beads, gold tone studs and even leather bows may add that extra special. It is likely that decorative trimmings on the bags will be extremely popular. Another trend may be to have headscarves threaded through the eyelets of the bag. Even a gold chain may be slotted to create a special look. The trend in handles may include chains in the leather or they may be made exclusively of chain.

STYLES GALORE: Printed bags are very much in vogue and so is the new deeper taller bag shape and deep tote styles. The material of the bag may be leather or suede, which may appear as washed out and faded. It may be tie-dyed or frilled or even tool impressed.

The handbag with a slouch is also set to make an impact this season. Hardware on bags is very much “in”, as is ironmongery. It is the large, oversized slouch bag, which will round off the fashion look whispering.

WATCH THE HARDWARE: Hardware on bags is a definite attraction this season. Bags are likely to have a row of studs or they may have extra leather, trimmed with metal over the bag’s body. Chain handles on bags are likely to be very popular. White bags are set to make a strong impression.

Another likely trend is the bag with the metallic finish that has metallic tones making it shimmer and glisten.

THINK SLIM: The trend is towards the shape of bags growing taller, sleeker, and cleaner. There is no lumpy untidiness of excessive bulky outside pockets on every available surface, although the size maybe big.

Here are some unique designs in purse and handbags, which can be, expected this year and which are sure to catch on.

USE THE CLOTH: Cloth purses are very casual fashion items but they are very popular. The strongest trend this year is likely to be colourful fabrics and unique patterns. Bold colors and striking contrast are likely to be “in”. Also very fashionable is the practical reversible cloth purse. The purse can be literally turned inside out to reveal the alternative fabric pattern. This allows you to have two purses for the price of one.

PUT A NAME TO IT: Monogrammed handbags never go out of style. The present styles are likely to be monogrammed handbags in a wide range of colors, shapes, sizes and styles.

An expected upcoming trend is leather sling hipster handbags with elegantly embossed initials or a name. The preferred material for such handbags is soft leather, because it is durable and very stylish. Apart from that, sling handbags are very comfortable to carry. They form the perfect accessory whether the outing is a casual one or a business one.

Monogrammed tote bags are also very much in fashion. They are the most perfect, casual fashion accessories. Monogrammed tote bags serve a variety of purposes, whether at the beach, or at a picnic, even at school. The best material for tote bags is soft cotton canvas and this is likely to be the trend this year too.

DOGGIE BAG: Dog purses are gaining popularity. With almost everyone loving dogs the fashion is veering towards handbags, tote bags and purses decorated with a full panel photo of a gorgeous pouch. Dog purses and handbags are also a great gift idea for anyone who loves their beloved hound. Custom-made dog purses are also becoming more and more popular. You can have your own photograph of your dog printed onto a handbag.

If you don’t like dogs, you can have your own photo, or the photo of that someone special in your life, printed onto your purse or handbag, Photo purses or handbags are ultra-cool and make a special fashion statement.

CLUTCH THAT BAG: Clutch purses and handbags have an elegant, streamlined look, but they’re the perfect size to carry all those little necessities. The trend for clutch purses and clutch handbags is likely to be all glamour. Shiny metallic gold, silver, bronze and platinum shades will be the strong colors of the season, in soft suede leather.

If you follow the above trends you can be sure that you will be never out of sync with your handbag this season. You will be very much a part of the “in” crowd.

Handbag Q & A

Q. What can I do to keep my handbag organized?

–Losing It

A. It all begins with selecting the right handbag for your lifestyle. Inner and outer pockets and zippered sections help sort and separate the contents. Limit the contents to those basics you really need each day: cash, credit cards, keys, lipstick, and planner. Your chiropractor will thank you. If you need additional beauty products consider a small makeup case that will prevent spills. If you find yourself lugging around an umbrella, paperback, file folders, baby formula, toys, camera, snacks and more, either consider a larger tote-style bag that can accommodate all your needs. Or consider keeping a separate bag with these items in your car or office. Another option that works for some women is carrying a small clutch purse (that’s quick to grab and go) in a larger tote-type briefcase. Whichever option you choose, remember to regularly purge the store receipts, old tissues, lint-covered candies, and business cards that can load you down and steal precious space.

Q. How can I stash everything I need for my busy work life without resorting to wheeled luggage?

–Desperate

A. Look for one of today’s totally hot briefcases. Opt for one with both long and short padded straps and lots of interior pockets. Consider using a laptop case or postman style bag. Either will accommodate file folders, brochures, and other office paraphernalia and you’ll look great too.

Q. I hate the “new” handbags with all the straps, tassels, buckles, rivets and more. I refuse to buy one because I consider myself too old for all that stuff. But…I don’t want to look like my grandma either. Help me.

–Too young to look old

A. As in all things fashion, it’s best to be aware of the trends but ultimately to do only what’s right for you. You don’t want to be a fashion lemming following the masses off the cliff of good taste just to fit in. You may choose to opt for a simpler, cleaner style (with less ‘stuff’ happening) in one of the season’s newest colors—but only if it’s a color you love and will use long term, not because someone else deemed it a “must have.”

Q. How do I choose the right handbag for my size and body type?

—Want to Get it Right

A. You need to think proportion. If you’re a tall, large-framed woman yoo can pull off anything but a teeny-tiny bag. If you’re petit, many large bags will simply overpower you and be all wrong proportion-wise. Ensure you check out the look in a full-length mirror or if ordering online, compare the product dimensions with those bags you already own that are perfect sized for you.

Q. Sometimes I feel like the fashion industry is holding me hostage. “Experts” proclaim the season’s “it” bag, anoint the greatest designer ever, decide what you must have to be anyone. I’m sick of it. What do you suggest?

–I’m mad as hell and not taking it anymore

A. I don’t blame you, Mad as Hell. Every woman is capable of making the right choice for herself, based on lifestyle, budget, and needs. It doesn’t matter who made it, but rather who chose it. Widen your options by buying an eclectic mix of both inexpensive (but well-made) and couture bags. Visit vintage stores or granny’s attic looking for quality, well-made, beautiful, one-of-a-kind old bags to augment your wardrobe. You’re not in high school anymore, carve out your own path, make your own choices, express your own creativity and panache.

Decked Out in a New Designer Purse for the Holidays: New Designer Handbag is Good for Your Health

Want to make a difference in this year’s gift-giving? Make a smart investment. Use the information in this article to begin Google research for all your 2006 discount designer handbags and purses gift-giving needs. The search terms found in “ITALICS” will locate the perfect resources to fulfill all your shopping requirements without leaving the comfort of home. Copy and past the italicized search terms into the Google search box and voila! Let your fingers do the shopping to save wear and tear on your feet!

Here are some trusted tips, research, and websites for your holiday discount designer handbags purchase. Whenever in doubt, go to Google.com, copy & paste the italicized words in the search box, and hit the Enter key.

Nowadays, we pay a few hundred dollars for a new pair of designer jeans, and our designer jacket or designer cashmere sweater costs a bit more. Our Manolo stilettos top the charts at several hundred dollars. Then we explode with a fabulous designer purse or handbag with a much higher price tag. Why? Why not!

If it feels good, do it. Carry a designer handbag to make the designer outfit you painstakingly put together look great! And, pick a classic. Select a designer purse you’ll want to keep around for awhile. Don’t be boring. Pick your new purse with style, pizazz, texture, pattern, embossed leather and color. This season’s designer purses are adorned with logos, chains, charms, colorful trims and bold large sizes.

The list of hot designers seems endless. To name a few, some of the top handbag designers include: Juicy Couture, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Burberry and Coach. Don’t be surprised when you go handbag shopping. The prices range from hundreds of dollars to several thousand each.

Remember George Karlin’s stand-up routine about “stuff?” Well, now we have surrendered our stuff to be contained in fabulously designed expensive purses and handbags! Plus, remember the famous Loreal` cosmetics TV commercial proclaiming “I’m worth it.” Owning a new expensive designer bag is now part of the psychology of fashion. We are worth it. We work hard for our look, and it feels great to carry a famous designer bag! Our stuff is carried in style because we are worth it.

When you find yourself people watching at the airport or shopping mall, focus on the purses women (and men) are carrying these days. The designer handbag craze is not isolated to one sex. There are almost as many fancy manbags for the guys as there are fabulous styles for the women. So, if you are thinking about upgrading your man’s appearance, pick a standard basic to begin his new adventure. A suggestion is a LATICO designer handbags black leather messenger bag. It’s a standard, basic, clean style for any man on your list.

Famous designer labels are the standard — the norm today vs. days gone by. For the most part, you’ll see Gucci designer handbags recognizable by their traditional stripe or horsebit motif in leather, GG monogram canvas and/or mixed with leather and canvas designs. Gucci designer purses are for all age groups. Personally, I’d save the Gucci gifts for Mom, Auntie and the more mature women on your holiday shopping list.

Juicy Couture offers metallic leathers and adorns the bags with pom-poms, chains, charms and the signature “J” logo on zipper pulls and hang-tags. Juicy leather bags are made of soft and supple Italian napa. The bags are comfortable to carry and cater to all age groups. A Juicy Couture designer purse is the perfect gift for any female aged 13 or older. Most of the purses are lined in a signature Juicy Couture lining. If you want to see the teen on your holiday shopping list grin ear-to-ear hand her a Juicy Couture designer handbag. Any size, shape, style or color will do the trick!

Marc Jacobs designer handbag styles are timeless and seasonless. They can be carried all year long and never go out of style. The signature push locks and pockets decorate Marc Jacobs purses. They use durable, scratch resistant leather in smooth, pebble grain or quilted styles. Engraved hardware on zipper pulls is standard. The bags are usually quite roomy and come in a variety of colors. Marc Jacobs is a little pricier than the Juicy bags and will make her not only smile, but probably give you a big smooch! If you are looking for stocking stuffers fill ‘em to the brim with MARC JACOBS designer accessories monogram animal shape pencil sharpeners. Anything with the MJ monogram will bring a smile to the face of your young fashionista’s face!

Coach designer purses are an all-time favorite. Every closet should have at least a few to pull out when all else fails. Coach accessories are great for everyday use and available in a variety of styles, colors, sizes and designs. Coach makes a signature CC logo pattern in monogram canvas. There’s also smooth and pebble grain Italian leather styles. Colors range from patchwork to solid basics. You can’t go wrong with a Coach purchase for the holidays. One of our favorites is the COACH designer handbag 3574 signature duffle monogram shoulder bag. Coach also has small leather goods in wristlet styles, wallets, key cases and picture keepsakes. Small evening bag styles are also available for the person who does not like carrying a large bag. The COACH designer purses white canvas bronze leather is ideal for gift-giving.

Louis Vuitton designer purses are seen everywhere. The LV monogram canvas when purchased brand new is very expensive. Yet, often found at resale shops when a woman wants to upgrade to a new bag. Resellers like LuxuryVintage.com offer a deep discount on pre-owned Louis Vuitton designer handbags. Be careful when shopping online for Louis Vuitton. There are tons of knockoffs being sold as authentic items. When making an online purchase, it’s always smart to confirm the authenticity with the site owner prior to submitting an order.

Prada is easy to spot. The Prada triangle logo is an icon in the fashion industry. Prada designer handbags are made of leather or durable vela nylon trimmed in leather. With the release of this year’s box-office hit “The Devil Wears Prada” sales have increased for this famous designer label. Please remember, angels wear prada too – especially your little angel! There are several styles to choose with large embossed leather PRADA logos and embroidered PRADA enscribed on the font of many 2006 designs. One of our favorites is the PRADA designer purses BR3464.

Fendi designer purses are adorned with the famous FF logo pattern. The F’s are available in a large FF pattern or a smaller ff motif. Both jacquard prints are fashion icons and available in a variety of colors with matching small accessories available, too. A classic Fendi is always a good choice for a gift, especially for someone special. The classic FENDI designer handbag baguette designer purse – 8BR000 is at our top of the shopping list for all ages. Yet, if you are looking for a monogram key case under $100, select a FENDI accessories 8AP002.

The Burberry Check pattern is very easy to recognize when you find yourself spotting designer handbags. The traditional tan is also available in a lighter color called Nova Check. Most are constructed of a vinyl treated canvas with leather trim. The moderately priced BURBERRY handbag sling pochette or the BURBERRY nova check flower pot shopper are favorite Burberry check picks.

Chanel is famous for its quitled lamb leather and chain straps. The CC logo is what women go for the most. The CC logo is found on Chanel designer handbags, Chanel designer jewelry and Chanel designer sunglasses. If you want to make a hit with a lady, give a Chanel gift. It’s a classic item and literally never goes out of style. A favorite in line with the holidays is the CHANEL designer purse shades of red leather monogram hobo bag. You may even find it at more than 20% off retail online!

Hermes probably tops the charts for prices, and there aren’t enough words to express the respect for Hermes designer handbags. The Hermes leather items are hand made and each are given its own serial number to identify the artisan’s hand work. Hermes shops are only found in major cities. But, now with Internet Shopping available, a few reputable sites offer Hermes. Again, be careful not to make a purchase for a fake Hermes. They are horrible imitations and an insult to the House of Hermes. Select a reputable online store and don’t be sorry later. Auction sites are a risk for making a Hermes purchase. So, unless you know the seller, you may want to stay away from auction sites like eBay for Hermes. Hermes.com offers small accessories, but their shipping and tax is outrageous. Bluefly also sells Hermes but again, the discount is not that great. There’s also BrandBoutique.com for new deeply discounted Hermes, and if you don’t mind pre-owned, LuxuryVintage offers even deeper discounts plus shipping discounts and not sales tax. Whenever there’s a question, send an email to the site and don’t purchase until you get all your questions answered.

Designer purses top the charts ranging from the mid-hundreds to thousands of dollars each. Most women plan to purchase several each year. I truly believe the designer handbag has become as popular to the fashion addict as buying a new pair of shoes. Don’t let the high cost scare you off. These bags last a long time when cared for properly. Store them in a sleeper bag neatly in your closet. Take your favorite leather goods to a good shoe cobbler for cleaning and repairs. An expensive designer handbag will last a long time, even longer than your favorite pair of boots or stilettos when cared for properly.

With the onset of the holidays, thoughts of giving and receiving can pose a dilemna. Skip the chocolates and flowers this year. Give something that lasts forever! There are certain folks (ourselves included) who are very difficult to buy for. So, what do we do? We ponder and wait until the last minute to make our selection. Think twice about this year’s purchases. Almost all women carry a purse. So, it’s a no-brainer any woman would love a new designer handbag. Most men use a wallet, some use manbags, and many use a briefcase or messenger style laptop bag. Make your shopping easy, memorable and practical. Invest your gift-giving dollars in an item the receiver will love and adore.

Here’s a tip to the wise, and why you should own vs. rent a designer handbag. The following excerpt from an article was found posted on Snopes.com titled Bag-Teria. In summary the article states, “Bacteria on Purses. A study was performed on women’s purses. A health team went to a local mall and took samples from the bottom of 50 women’s purses. The purses were swabbed with cotton swabs along the entire bottom of the purses and placed into special containers. The swabs were then processed at a local laboratory. The Health Report also showed where women place their purses: public rest-rooms (on the floor beside the toilet), kitchen counters & kitchen tables, on tables & chairs in restaurants, etc. The results of the laboratory tests contained the following most serious result: 1 out of 4 purses — E COLI. Other extremely serious bacteria also were listed, including Hepatitis.”

Just the thought of using a purse previously borrowed by a stranger is revolting. Many women carry their puppy in their tote. Should you risk using that same handbag for the market? Not a good idea – even if it gives you a sense of status. You certainly don’t want to spread an unwanted illness from a rented purse!

All decked out in a new designer purse for the holidays and beyond is the goal. The investment made for a new leather or monogram tote bag must become a lasting treasure. So, do your homework, and shop online for discount designer handbags and purses at a reputable ecommerce fashion site. And, whenever in doubt, send an email to the website’s owner for help, guidance and assistance. Many websites offer personal shopping tips to put a smile on both the gift-giver and receiver for high-end designer purchases.

Handbags and Women Go Hand in Hand – But Why?

As a man struggling to float in a sea of adept swimming females, I’ve been on the verge of sinking, especially in coming to grips with why women always carry around handbags. I have not once met a woman out and about without a handbag, ever. And there has to be some reason behind this, one would assume, right?

So, I inquired to myself what it is exactly that allures ladies to these bags they commonly tote around.

There are obvious differences between men and women, clearly. As men, we pocket a wallet, and on occasion will carry a shoulder bag, depending on our destination. Yet, women will always carry around a hand bag or purse, no matter where they’re off to.

But, why the difference? What factor separates us as men and women in our carrying needs?

It’s A Matter of Bagology…erm, I mean, Biology:

Through some research, I discovered that women are instinctively driven to be carriers and providers. Females actually need to carry something to hold possessions as it was and still is a fundamental need rooted in biological and physiological makeup.

By nature, women are caregivers. And in a familial environment, women’s roles have naturally evolved toward ensuring everyone with whatever they need. Throughout history women were responsible for raising children, which required readily available items for their children usually held within some sort of ‘bag.’ Consequently, the need to carry handbags full of items she or her loved ones might require has been instituted a long time ago and is currently the norm.

Hey, What Do You Have In That Bag?:

Women, a side from being nurturing and accommodating to loved ones, are quite mysterious in their ways, as are the contents of their handbags. To possess a hand bag is to be hush-hush, but it’s also a bit enticing. The fact that items in a handbag are concealed is captivating to men and other onlookers. As silly as this may seem, it’s all too true; men are often intrigued by what is in a woman’s handbag.

And it can be safe to assume that based on the contents of a woman’s handbag, one can get an idea of a woman’s personality, no matter how bizarre or random her belongings are. A handbag is the key to a woman’s real self.

Fashionably and Socially Yours:

Mysterious or not, women and handbags go hand in hand. The most discernible reason women are ‘bag-ladies’ is due to an appreciation of fashion. Let’s face it, women are fashionable and they enjoy looking snazzy. As women are well aware, to tote around a handbag is to accent an outfit. And women love to accessorize their wardrobes, especially with just that right purse or handbag.

But, even beyond just fashion and sporting a cute purse, handbags have become a way to socially rank your self as a woman. The quality, worth and style of a woman’s handbag is directly related to their status in society in terms of their income.

Sink to Swim:

I’ve come to understand why women are attracted to handbags. Women are naturally inclined to be nurturers, carriers and providers. Hence, they’ve become accustomed to using and carrying handbags. Whether or not they’re mystifying men and other onlookers blatantly or inadvertently with what they’re toting, women are unquestionably prepared.

Ready for anything through the mere contents of their handbags, two things are clear: women have certainly become excellent at confusing their opposite sex and to understand women’s handbagging ways as men, you’ve got to first sink to swim.

If you’re looking to upgrade or optimize to a new over the shoulder bag look no further. For a nice hand bag upgrade consider checking out buxton bag products.
